Textron Specialized Vehicles markets products under several different brands. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves. Responsibilities include following specifications and design requirements for new or revised mechanical systems and components during vehicle assembly, designing and analyzing layouts, components, and detailed drawings, using tolerances, specification limits, and GD&T to perform accurate tolerance stack-up analyses, ensuring accuracy of all CAD work and maintaining well-organized records, utilizing 3D modeling software (Siemens NX or Pro/E) to produce models and drawings, performing analysis and calculations for mechanical system and component designs using computer-based analysis and simulation techniques such as FEA, CFD, and dynamic simulation tools, ensuring all drawings, calculations, bills of materials, and cost objectives are adhered to according to project schedules, developing and overseeing prototyping plans for new parts and engines and working in cross functional teams to procure and fabricate prototype parts, assisting the assembly of prototype parts and engines to ensure accurate build of product, creating appropriate test and validation plans for new and revised designs and monitoring to ensure performance that meets or exceeds the design requirements, assisting in the development and accuracy of Bills of Material (BOMs) and Engineering Change Notice (ECNs), and supporting the development of service manuals and part books.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely-related curriculum from an ABET-accredited university, 2 or more years of experience with experience with vehicle systems preferred, and knowledge of CAD, Solid Works, ProE, UG-NX, CATIA, SAP, Microsoft Office.
