Custodian – Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce

Position:
Custodian – 188 or 236 days (location dependent)
Location(s): multiple locations

Start Date:

as soon as possible

• Must be flexible to work necessary hours – day or night shift.
• Keep school in a clean and orderly condition.
• Mop, buff and wax school floors.
• Empty trash in offices and classrooms daily.
• Vacuum on a daily basis.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms daily.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of custodian supplies, tools, and materials.
• Assist in lifting and moving heavy objects and furniture as required.
• Assist in setting up facilities for programs, meetings, etc. as required.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, administrators, and other contact persons using tact and good judgment.
• Model and maintain high ethical standards.
• Function as a team worker and contribute to department success.
• Present a professional image when representing the school system through word, action, and dress.
• Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or principal.

High school diploma or equivalent; GED preferred.

• Ability to understand chemical hazards.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand on a regular basis.
• Must be able to lift/carry fifty (50) pounds frequently and up to one hundred (100) pounds occasionally.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to organize and prioritize.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others.

Previous custodial training or experience preferred but not required.
