Location:

84 Lumber is hiring Truss Builders for our fast‑paced manufacturing facility in Cartersville, GA. We are seeking experienced candidates as well as motivated individuals ready to learn a skilled trade and grow their careers.

If you have experience in construction, framing, carpentry, warehouse operations, landscaping, concrete, roofing, plumbing, painting, or general labor, we encourage you to apply.

Schedule & Pay
  • Pay start at $17/hr
  • 1st shift 6:00am–2:30pm
  • Monday–Friday
  • Overtime may be available, including Saturdays
Responsibilities
  • Assemble roof and floor trusses using jigs, nail guns, and hand tools
  • Read and interpret engineered drawings and blueprints
  • Maintain quality, safety, and production standards
  • Work in a team environment to meet daily production goals
  • Insert, position, clamp, splice, and fit parts by hand and with power tools, and verify dimensions of cut material following supervisor instructions, blueprint specifications, and the cut sheet layout
  • Use a hammer to place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints
  • Control quality of assembled items, proposing process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Follow the prioritized production list assigned by the Assembler Lead and use assigned press stations to place and press plates on appropriate lumber
  • Fulfill daily machine and area cleanup procedures
Qualifications
  • Construction or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, blueprints, and a tape measure
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs repeatedly, or up to 80 lbs as needed
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work 10–12 hour shifts in heat, cold, and dust
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others
Requirements (Read Carefully)
  • Must be 18+
  • Must show up on time, every day
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work 10–12 hour shifts
  • Must bring your own 22 oz hammer and tape measure
  • Work boots required on day one
  • No facial hair (must meet safety/PPE requirements)
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E‑Verify employer)
  • Background check required (no felonies within past 7 years)
  • Drug screening required
