84 Lumber is hiring Truss Builders for our fast‑paced manufacturing facility in Cartersville, GA. We are seeking experienced candidates as well as motivated individuals ready to learn a skilled trade and grow their careers.
If you have experience in construction, framing, carpentry, warehouse operations, landscaping, concrete, roofing, plumbing, painting, or general labor, we encourage you to apply.
Schedule & Pay
- Pay starts at $17/hr (1st shift 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday–Friday; overtime, including Saturdays, may be available)
- $18/hr (2nd shift 3:30pm-1:30am)
- Assemble roof and floor trusses using jigs, nail guns, and hand tools.
- Read and interpret engineered drawings and blueprints.
- Maintain quality, safety, and production standards.
- Work in a team environment to meet daily production goals.
- Insert or position materials, clamp, splice, and fit parts by hand and with power tools, verifying dimensions by following supervisor’s instructions, blueprint specifications, and cut‑sheet layout.
- Use a hammer to place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints.
- Perform quality control of assembled items, proposing process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Follow the prioritized production list assigned by the Assembler Lead and use assigned press stations to place and press plates on appropriate lumber.
- Fulfill daily machine and area cleanup procedures.
- Construction or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure and use power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one‑on‑one.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be 18+.
- Must show up on time, every day.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work 8–10 hour shifts on your feet.
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Must be comfortable working in heat, cold, and dust.
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
