Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license, working night shifts on an every-other-weekend schedule.

Job Details

• Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting,

• Patient diagnoses include general medical-surgical cases, peritoneal dialysis, and radial band recovery (no PCI),

• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,

• Every other weekend required,

• No on-call responsibilities,

• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or compact) required,

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required,

• Current certifications must be on file for consideration,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• Local candidates are accepted,

• No schedule change requests or alternate shifts will be accommodated - the posted night shift is firm,

• RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment,

• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review,

• Major holidays include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as
1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as
1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as
1),

• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler,

• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration,

• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
