Position: School Nurse for the  School Year

Job Details: 184 Days – Classified Salary

Schedule:

F2 (LPN) or J1 (RN)

Locations: Bartow County College & Career Academy

Start Date: July 30, 2026

• Promotes and protects optimal health status of students.
• Provides health assessments and screens for deficits in vision, hearing, scoliosis, growth, etc.
• Identifies abnormal health findings, implements student health plan, and interprets health status to parents and staff.
• Initiates referrals to parents, school personnel, or community health resources for interventions, remediation and follow‑through.
• Utilizes existing health resources to provide appropriate care of students.
• Implements procedures and provides for emergency nursing management for injuries/illnesses.
• Promotes and assists in control of communicable diseases.
• Treats confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion.
• Maintains professional image when representing the school district.
• Demonstrates punctual and regular attendance.
• Performs other duties as requested and required.

• State of Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) certification.

• Ability to make quick and methodical decisions regarding critical care of students and employees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, including meticulous documentation of records.
• Proficiency in operating as a nurse or paramedic in a school setting.

Previous experience working as a nurse preferred. Must hold minimum of LPN licensure.

• High School / Trade School degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
