American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details- Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
- General ER treating combined adult/pediatric patient population
- Community hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, FHM, TNCC
- Experience with psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, drug overdose, and managing violent behavior
- IV therapy/phlebotomy and central line care/management skills required
- Experience starting and maintaining IVs required
- Experience with IV vasopressors required
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
- Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required
- Neuro-trauma experience required
- Provide emergency nursing care across a range of acute and critical conditions including psychiatric, respiratory, cardiac, and neurological cases
- Triage experience preferred
- Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience preferred
- Continuous IV sedation experience preferred
- Experience with suicidal and psychiatric hold patients preferred
- BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care experience listed among relevant skills
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- If one or two holidays fall during the assignment, coverage of all is expected
- If three holidays fall during the assignment, coverage of two is expected with one holiday RTO request possibly considered
- Full compliance required prior to start date to avoid scheduling delays
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers previously not approved to return to a facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
