American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience, with night shift availability and flexibility to float throughout the hospital.
Details- Hospital float pool role covering the Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown units
- Patient ratios up to 1:7 in Med-Surg and 1:4-6 in other float assignments
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Must float throughout the facility within scope of practice, including the Emergency Department
- Schedule is fixed with no schedule requests accommodated due to float pool assignment
- Preferred experience with Epic charting system
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- First-time travelers not accepted for this unit
- Preferred experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, and Trauma Level I/II settings
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, respiratory care, IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and cardiac drip management preferred
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams preferred
- ICU/ED experience preferred
- Provide direct patient care across multiple hospital units as part of the float pool team
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities
- Perform IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and feeding tube management as needed
- Utilize isolation precautions and PPE per professional standards
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
- No RTO requests permitted during orientation week
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Returning travelers who were previously unable to complete an assignment must complete one successful assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
