Position: Manager In Training (Part Time)

Location: Cartersville, Georgia (Cherokee Place Shopping Center)

Salary: $10.35 – $10.35 per hour

Reports To: Store Manager

Summary

The Manager in Training supports the Store Manager in all operational and administrative duties. The role requires a deep knowledge of each store department, promotes customer service excellence, and steps into supervisory responsibilities when the Store Manager is absent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
  • Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for departmental and overall store objectives, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
  • Assume responsibility for the entire store during the Store Manager’s absence.
  • Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across all departments when necessary.
  • Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability in all departments.
  • Direct staff to complete departmental responsibilities and standards.
  • Inform the Store Manager about inventory movements and customer trends.
  • Maintain quality customer service in accordance with the customer service manual.
  • Perform general administrative duties and be trained in the Store Manager’s responsibilities.
  • Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by Hibbett I City Gear.
  • Adhere to all Hibbett I City Gear policies, procedures, and standards as detailed in the operations, personnel, visual, and customer service manuals.
  • Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring effective internal controls and reporting potential fraud risks.
  • Supervise employees in the absence of the Store Manager, following organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work, and resolve problems related to employee performance.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
  • 1–3 years of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to assist in managing a team and maintain overall goals and profitability.
  • Self‑starter with initiative to undertake important tasks independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with precision.
  • Team‑player passionate about outstanding customer service and merchandise sales.
