Materials Manager - Advanced Power Cycles - GA

Provides support to the project team with complex materials functions such as material receiving, inspection, storage, maintenance and issuance to ensure project equipment and materials are available to support the construction schedule. Responsible for integrity and use of the Material/Inventory Management System.

• Responsible for the physical receipt, inspection and documentation of incoming/outgoing project materials and equipment. Complete the project specific Materials Management Procedure. Plan, organize, implement and maintain site receiving rules, laydown areas and warehouse space. Manage and allocate warehouse/laydown areas, ensure proper housekeeping and inventory counts as needed.
• Ensure all materials are received, inspected, stored, maintained and issued in a timely and compliant manner. Train employees, staff and/or craft labor on proper receiving, storage and maintenance procedures. Liaise with engineering and procurement personnel to ensure timely delivery of project materials and equipment. Manage OS and D process with supply vendors and coordinate with procurement as needed.
• Maintain the Material/Inventory Management System used by the project. Track preventive maintenance, surplus, scrap and salvageable materials. Record and track material issues from storage to construction. Provide metric reporting on inventory, issues, location, OS and D’s, preventive maintenance, equipment usage, receiving and spare parts.
• Establish goals and measure performance of the project materials organization. Ensure field compliance with corporate and field specific procedures. Support continuous improvement efforts and change management associated with implementing improvements.
• Supervise Field Materials Controller and Field Materials Clerk. May oversee craft personnel under the direct supervision of discipline superintendent.

• Seven (7) years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search in compliance with applicable laws.

• BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical/Engineering, Construction Management or related field (preferred). Relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Global experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, computer, contract comprehension, data entry, mathematics, organization, problem‑solving, project process management, schedule and planning skills.

Typical construction site or office environment. Able to work in a fast paced environment and extended work weeks at project’s discretion.
