Financial Accounting Internship – Segment Reporting Department
Leggett & Platt, Incorporated has an opening for a non-seasonal Financial Accounting Intern at its corporate headquarters in Carthage, MO. The internship requires at least 20 hours per week during the school year, with the possibility of additional hours in the summer months. Interns will gain direct experience with the company’s accounting systems and an understanding of its operations.
Essential Responsibilities- Prepare account reconciliations and analyze accounts to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Assist in the preparation of the company’s consolidated financial statements and internal management reports.
- Assist with shareholder reports, support outside auditors in account analyses, and handle day‑to‑day contact with division accounting staff, operating managers, and other corporate department staff.
- Must be a college student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, with an anticipated graduation date no earlier than December 2026 or later than May 2028.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Desired GPA of 3.3 or higher; completion of at least one college accounting course is preferred.
