Product Design Internship – Mechanical Engineering
Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Product Design Intern at the IDEA Center in Carthage, MO. The internship involves collaborating on product lifecycle activities including exploration, design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing, and working with engineering mentors on projects aligned with your interests.
Responsibilities- Collaborate within a dynamic team on product lifecycle activities such as exploration, design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
- Work with engineering mentors on projects that match your skills and interests.
- Contribute to real‑world tasks and projects, and may be involved in patentable work.
- Major in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 40 credit hours or more toward a bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in 3D modeling (Solid Works, Inventor, Pro/Engineer, etc.).
- Student design project experience a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
