Engineering Technician

Leggett & Platt Inc. is a premier designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers. Our engineering team seeks an Engineering Technician (Controls Technician) to support both the manufacturing and engineering functions within our automated production environment.

• Ensure safe practices are followed, including use of protective equipment.
• Collaborate closely with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering departments.
• Support production and improve processes for controls, machine vision, and robotic systems.
• Maintain and adjust machine vision systems to ensure quality.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and program Allen‑Bradley PLCs and peripheral equipment.
• Develop, implement, and troubleshoot system integration.
• Perform preventive maintenance, alignment, and calibration of robots.
• Maintain robot end‑of‑arm tooling mechanically.
• Create, improve, and maintain documentation related to these systems.

• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Knowledge of PLC, robotics, and machine vision systems.
• Basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Willingness to learn basic electricity/electronics.
• Computer skills in Word and Excel.
• Good communication skills.
• Drafting skills and ability to read blueprints.
• Eagerness to learn.

• Commitment to safety and good housekeeping.
• Ability to work in teams on continuous improvement projects.
