The MRI Technologist performs high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and safety standards. This role ensures patient safety, delivers excellent patient care, and supports the diagnostic process through accurate image acquisition and documentation.
Required Qualifications- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology program.
- Current ARRT (MR) certification or ARRT (R) with MRI registry eligibility.
- Possess valid state credentials, if applicable.
- Knowledge base or experience to successfully complete MRI procedures.
- Strong understanding of MRI physics, anatomy, protocols, and safety guidelines.
- Ability to recognize imaging artifacts and adjust techniques to improve image quality.
- Excellent communication skills and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of PACS systems.
- Knowledge of DR systems.
- Knowledge of Image sharing Systems.
- 3-5 years’ experience with MRI.
- Certification by the ARRT in (CT)) Computed Tomography.
- 3-5 years’ experience with CT.

Wage Range:$30-$45/hour (Actual wage based on relevant experience)
Status:Full Time (approx 40 hours/week)
- Perform MRI examinations following department protocols and radiologist instructions.
- Verify patient identity, clinical history, and exam requirements.
- Explain procedures to patients, addressing questions, and easing anxieties.
- Position patients correctly and ensure proper immobilization as required.
- Monitor patients during exams and respond promptly to discomfort or adverse reactions.
- Understands methods and can perform venipunctures.
- Administer IV contrast agents following safety guidelines; monitor for allergic reactions.
- Initiates basic life support actions when necessary.
- Screen patients, visitors, and staff for MRI safety in accordance with ACR and hospital guidelines.
- Maintain a safe MRI environment by enforcing Zone I–IV safety policies.
- Follow MRI safety practices, including ferromagnetic detection, hearing protection, and emergency quench protocols.
- Comply with HIPAA, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Operate MRI scanners, coils, and related equipment to obtain optimal imaging quality.
- Select appropriate imaging protocols based on clinical indication.
- Perform quality control checks and report equipment issues or service needs.
- Use PACS/RIS systems for image processing, documentation, and exam verification.
- Maintain accurate patient records, contrast logs, and exam documentation.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, nurses, providers, and imaging team members.
- Assist with scheduling, workflow optimization, and exam prioritization.
- Provide support in training new technologists, students, or cross‑training staff when needed.
