MainResponsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in line with service needs.
- Provide clinical leadership and line management of audiology staff within a specific patient group, reporting to the Head of Service.
- Conduct clinical supervision and training of staff.
- Maintain and update professional knowledge and ensure team registration and continuous professional development.
- Manage the specific service area in partnership with the Head of Service, maintaining accountability.
- Develop and evaluate scientific, rehabilitative and support services, delivering the highest standards of quality and safety for audiology patients.
- Implement and manage clinical governance, ensuring national and local policies are followed.
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge of audiology procedures and practices, underpinned by theoretical and practical experience.
- Collaborate with the Head of Service, Operational Management and the Clinical Director for ENT to ensure safe, effective care and timely service delivery.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators as directed.
- Contribute to the attainment and maintenance of UKAS accreditation.
- Co‑operate in research and collaboration across the organisation.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the role.

Applicant RequirementsAll successful candidates must have UK professional registration. DBS and Disclosure & Barring Service checks are required.
Person Specification – Qualifications & Education- BSc or equivalent in Audiology.
- Post‑graduate qualification to MSc level (e.g., MSc Audiology, M level qualification).
- Registered with the AHCS or HCPC as an Audiologist or Clinical Scientist.
- Management or leadership qualification or equivalent CPD evidence.
- Evidence of continuous professional and personal development.
- Significant experience in audiological assessment and management of adults and children across all ages.
- Significant post‑registration experience in a senior audiologist role with evidence of managing complex caseloads and continuous service improvement.
- Experience of supervision and teaching.
- Experience of clinical service development.
- Knowledge of relevant NHS policies or project‑specific policy context.
- Experience of safeguarding pathways for adults and children.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including shared decision‑making with patients, carers and the hearing impaired.
- High‑quality written communication skills for reports and various stakeholders.
- Ability to develop pathways with education, health, social work and voluntary/user agencies.
- Strong decision‑making skills in complex situations, analysing options.
- Capacity for intense concentration in clinical and managerial roles.
- Good IT skills, including Word, Excel, and other databases.
- Ability to work under pressure and cope with urgent decision‑making.
