Sanitation Tech - 3rd Shift

Position Summary

Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods.

• Responsible for the safe use of appropriate chemical solutions to ensure the cleanest and most highly sanitized equipment
• Ensure that all necessary safety precautions are followed in performing responsibilities
• Follow through on projects assigned
• Cleans equipment by using hot water hoses and/or high pressure soap hoses with temperatures up to 160°
• Lifts, carries, pushes or pulls parts or equipment with weights up to 100# or more
• Climbs ladders to clean spirals/equipment
• Possible forklift/pallet jack/manlift licensed for certain areas
• Tears equipment down and assists Production to put line back together
• Works with soaps and other cleaning compounds, some toxic if not handled correctly
• Temperatures throughout plant average 50°
• Required to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company
• Other duties as assigned

• Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts & horseplay
• Use proper lifting techniques
• Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift)
• Use personal assistance (buddy)
• Use handrails
• Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Prefer High School Diploma/GED
• May require a forklift/pallet jack certification
• Ability to communicate effectively

• Continuously required to walk, stand, and handle gross motor tasks
• Frequent reaching above shoulders and working with arms above or at shoulder height, body bending, hand twisting (both), and body twisting/rotating
• Occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching/squatting, climbing stairs, pushing or pulling 60–100 pounds up to 100 ft, lifting 60‑100 pounds up to a height of 3‑5 ft, and fine motor of the fingers; also able to use handjack, manlift, and forklift
• Will be exposed to loud industrial type environments, power equipment, and toxic chemicals
• Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold
