1st Shift Lead-Master Scale

Candidate must be able to perform the job in his/her assigned area or responsibility in accordance to plant POG procedures. Master Scale person must have knowledge of the company policies and procedures. Must be able to pull or lift up to 75 pounds and must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must possess the ability to communicate with management at all levels.

• Perform pre-flight inspection of the assigned area of responsibility to ensure a successful production start-up.
• Assist the production supervisor to ensure the process is operated in accordance with plant and USDA procedures.
• Perform periodic verifications to ensure operational sanitation is in compliance.
• Complete HACCP, SSOP and related processing documentation.
• Update shop floor control boards with accurate performance, safety, and communication information.
• Verify that associates continually adhere to the company GMP policies and procedures.
• Ensure housekeeping in the assigned area is maintained in a manner considered good housekeeping.
• Assist the production supervisor, PC, and trainers with daily activities.
• Assist with effective communication of process changes or deviations.
• Assist with the administration of job rotation for the assigned area of responsibility.

• At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass a background check, drug screen, and pre‑employment physical.
• Must be able to use basic math and typing skills.
• Must be willing to work overtime and flexible shifts as required.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions and policies.

• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

May regularly be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.
• Must be able to work in damp and cold environments for long periods of time.
• Must be physically capable of working extended hours if needed and in a wet environment, standing for long periods of time, and operating processing equipment.
• Must wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to work with raw and/or cooked meat.
• Noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 dBA and require hearing protection.
