We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Production Associate within our Operations team to help support our Automotive business. As a Production Associate you will have the opportunity to control the operation of single or multiple production machines for the process of manufacturing products. Must be able to work in teams on continuous improvement projects.
Responsibilities- The job is a standing/sitting job requiring the operation of a grid/lumbar assembly machine. The machine processes straight wire to form a mat, which is used in the assembly of automotive seating. Upon completion of a bundle of approximately 50 pieces, the bundle is carried to a strapping machine for tying and placement in a shipping container.
- The operator is responsible for producing quality products and must be able to identify such. If necessary, the operator must be able to notify appropriate person to fix machine.
- Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate.
- Conform with the environmental policy and procedures and with the requirements of the environmental management system.
- Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.
- Ability to understand both verbal and written instruction. This includes the ability with proper training to follow construction blueprints and document ongoing processes.
- Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality.
- Ability to lift objects not to exceed 70 pounds.
- Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices.
- The willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts of which are included IATF-16949/ISO-9001:2015, Kaizen, and SMED.
- Monday to Thursday from 6:45 am to 5:15 pm
