We, at Leggett & Platt Incorporated, are searching for a Production Associate within our Operations team to help support our Automotive business. We are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers and tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups:

As Production Associate you will be responsible for setting up and controlling the operation of single or multiple production machines for the process of manufacturing products. You must work overtime when necessary and be able to work in teams on continuous improvement projects.
What you will be doing as a Production Associate- The job is a standing/sitting job requiring the operation of a molding machine. The machine processes molding of formed wire to form seating components.
- The operator is responsible for producing quality product and must be able to identify such. If necessary, the operator must be able to notify an appropriate person to fix the machine.
- Performs any other duties required in pursuance of the function of this position or as directed.
- Troubleshoot molding problems.
- Start molding machines; set molds in machines; properly hang molds; properly water molds.
- Change nozzles, nozzle tips, nozzle bands, and barrel bands.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and use.
- Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.
- Ability to understand instruction both verbal and written, including following construction blueprints and documenting ongoing processes after proper training.
- Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality.
- Ability to lift objects not to exceed 70 pounds.
- Ability to roll drums weighing 500 pounds.
- Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices.
- The willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts, such as TS-16949, Kaizen, and SMED.
- Monday to Thursday from 4:45 pm to 3:15 am or from 6:45 pm to 5:15 am.
