Job Title
Support all maintenance duties/electrical needs in an explosives production environment for your designated assigned area throughout the plant as needed or directed.
Essential Functions- Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
- Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values
- Proficiency in the installation and troubleshooting of electrical conduit and wiring for power, lighting and control system
- Capable of understanding and using all safety equipment, including arc flash, machinery and tools' guards and PPE.
- Perform repair, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities on plant operating equipment and systems as needed or required.
- Capable of the safe and proper use of hand tools and portable powered tools
- Capable of working from heights using ladders, platforms, or man-lifts with proper PPE and Fall-Protection
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Journeyman or electrician certificate preferred.
- Trade school certification in electrical knowledge desired.
- Five years working in an electrician capacity
- Manufacturing experience desired
- Must satisfy the requirements for a "Possess of Explosives" as defined by the Bureau of Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- Ability to understand and operate basic plant machinery.
- Knowledge of effective use of PPE in the workplace.
- Ability to "trouble shoot" electrical faults in electrical control and power systems, with both conventional and solid state type components.
- Knowledge in all forms of electrical construction and wiring for all industrial voltages
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to read and understand technical data information
- Knowledge of PLC systems with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
