This position is a Process Controls professional supporting control systems, automation technologies, and operational processes to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations. The role involves troubleshooting, project execution, and continuous improvement while building technical expertise within established standards and practices.
Responsibilities- Develop skills to program, support, and troubleshoot control logic, human machine interface (HMI) displays and supporting technology (networks, remote communications/protocols and metering) to meet operational, economic, and regulatory objectives.
- Understand cause and effects (C&E) and controls narrative documentation and utilize it to assist with factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Troubleshoot basic alarms with other operational teams and assist in their resolution.
- Understand local operational processes and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and assist in troubleshooting issues.
- Perform maintenance of controls projects and day‑to‑day support; receive direction from others and seek out mentoring contacts throughout the organization.
- Understand MPLX standards/guidelines as well as industry standards/guidelines.
- Participate in safety‑related processes and programs such as process hazards analysis (PHA) and management of change (MOC).
- Associate’s degree or vocational qualifications in a related field required.
- Seven (7) years of related experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug test.
