We are seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for utility transmission pipeline projects governed by API 1104/ASME 31.3
This role involves field inspection and quality oversight of welding operations on utility infrastructure, ensuring full compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform visual welding inspections in accordance with API 1104
- Verify compliance with approved WPS and essential variables
- Monitor production welding activities in the field
- Review and document NDT results (RT, UT, MT, PT)
- Maintain detailed daily inspection reports and QA/ QC documentation
- Assist with weld mapping, tracking, and traceability
- Support development and review of as-built documentation
- Coordinate with contractor crews, utility representatives, and third-party inspectors
- Active AWS CWI certification
- Strong working knowledge of API 1104
- Experience on pipeline or utility transmission projects
- Ability to interpret weld maps, isometric drawings, and construction documents
- Strong documentation and communication skills
$45 to $55 DOE
Duel Certifications start at $50 per hour
