The Role
As the Material Handler, you will unload, check, and compare material to the purchase order. Verify count and part numbers, receive and store materials, and prepare materials for use in all production areas. Maintain records reflecting receipts and disbursements.
Responsibilities- Receive purchase orders/materials and ensure accuracy of receipts. Assure completion of material handling daily.
- Label material properly with correct part numbers and distribute to departments/inventory locations as required.
- Inspect, count, weigh, or measure material or items from incoming shipments for correct part number and count, verifying information against purchase order/packing list.
- Enter receipt information into the computer system and place items in the correct location.
- Perform cycle counting and adjust inventory records as directed.
- Operate forklift as required.
- Fill pick tickets and kits as requested.
- May be assigned additional tasks as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–3 years of material handling experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (required).
- Dependable, organized, and detail‑oriented.
- Ability to read scales and rulers.
- Computer skills:
Word and Excel. - Basic math skills.
- Can work fairly independently or under minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills with employees, supervisors, and management.
- Safety and quality‑mindful.
- Good work ethic.
- Self‑starter who takes responsibility for their actions.
- Ability to label material properly.
- Previous experience using a material resource planning system is a plus.
$17.00 – $17.51 per hour.
