Scientist, R&D (Contract)

Duration: 18-Month Contract
We are seeking an experienced Scientist, R&D to join our team on an 18-month contract basis in Cary, Illinois. This hybrid role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical chemistry expertise, method development experience, and a background working in GMP-regulated environments.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (Chemistry preferred)
- Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience with analytical instrumentation, including:
- HPLC (High‑Performance Liquid Chromatography)
- GC (Gas Chromatography)
- FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
- UV-Vis Spectroscopy
- Other analytical laboratory instrumentation
- Minimum 6 years of experience developing and validating analytical methods using the instruments listed above
- Minimum 6 years of demonstrated experience in troubleshooting analytical challenges and solving complex technical problems
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working within a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) regulated environment
- Technical writing experience, including SOPs, protocols, and reports
- Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and best practices
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Perform analytical testing using HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, and related instrumentation
- Develop, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot analytical methods
- Analyze and interpret laboratory data while ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Support GMP-compliant laboratory operations and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to investigate and resolve technical issues
- Prepare technical reports, protocols, and other laboratory documentation as needed
- Adhere to laboratory safety procedures and regulatory requirements
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
