Job Summary
The Staff II helps Global Audit achieve its mission by coordinating, planning, and conducting fieldwork of financial, operational and compliance audits. The audits assess risk, evaluate internal controls, safeguard assets, and analyze financial reporting and operating procedures.
Essential Job Functions- Assist assessing risk using operations and data analysis to identify areas for internal audits or projects to improve operations or financial reporting. Under supervision, plan and conduct financial, operational, or regulatory audits. Evaluate observations, make recommendations, track audit status, draft observations, and prepare work papers. Monitor implementation of prior audit recommendation. (70%)
- Develop an understanding of risks and controls with execution against audit plans. (15%)
- Manage time and projects effectively. Document audit results in a clear and succinct manner and maintain professional communication with various stakeholders. (15%)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance.
- 2+ years experience in Accounting, Audit, or Finance.
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) - Institute of Internal Auditors
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
- 3+ years of experience with external or internal audit, preferably with large, public registrant or public accounting firm. Bank auditing experience is a plus.

Work Environment- Normal office environment. (Remote or Hybrid), 3 to 4 days per month are required in office if within 60 miles of a posted Bread Financial location.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year.
