Job Summary:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, resolving discrepancies, and providing excellent service to employees regarding payroll inquiries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly payroll for all field employees in compliance with company policies and applicable laws for multi-state payroll.
  • Review and verify payroll files from each office location, ensuring proper coding for jobs, cost codes, and pay rates.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee data in payroll systems.
  • Audit payroll for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process new hires, terminations, garnishments, deductions, bonuses, PTO and pay increases.
  • Process weekly travel pay for field employees.
  • Assist employees daily with inquiries related to payroll and timekeeping.
  • Work closely with HR, job site supervisors, branch admins, and accounting to ensure smooth payroll operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and payroll information.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements /

Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
