Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant position will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly financial reporting activities. This includes creating and analyzing journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring all month-end activities are recorded in an accurate, and timely manner each month.
- Assist in preparing of the monthly financial statements.
- Performing analysis and preparing journal entries and reconciliations related to rebates and special pricing discounts.
- Responding to internal and external audit requests that are required on a quarterly and annual basis
- Research variances and resolve issues with the process owners.
- Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting processes.
- Financial analysis as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 3 plus years of progressive financial accounting experience working with all aspects of financial accounting.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Strong accounting, analytical and variance analysis skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with various levels of management across Cornerstone.
- Proficiency of MS Excel and Word applications required.
- Solid financial accounting principles and working knowledge of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
