The Senior Accountant will support accurate and timely financial reporting for UPL North America by managing general ledger activities, supporting month-end and year-end close, assisting with audit requests, and maintaining fixed asset and lease accounting records. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities General Ledger and Close Activities- Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items.
- Prepare and post prepaid expense, accrual, and reclassification entries.
- Partner with Treasury on cash reconciliations and related accounting entries.
- Coordinate audit support for quarterly reviews and annual audits, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Respond to internal and external audit requests accurately and within required deadlines.
- Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Treasury, and other teams to gather documentation and resolve audit questions.
- Support compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company financial policies.
- Maintain fixed asset accounting records, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and related general ledger entries.
- Prepare and maintain depreciation and amortization schedules.
- Record lease accounting entries and reconcile related general ledger accounts.
- Ensure fixed asset and lease accounting activities are properly documented and compliant with applicable accounting standards.
