Ministry Finance Assistant

Objective:
We're looking for a team player who can communicate clearly to join the Baptists on Mission (BOM) team as a full-time Ministry Finance Assistant. On Mission together, to provide NC Baptist ministries, staff, and churches with excellent operational and administrative support in a manner that honors Christ. As the Ministry Finance Assistant, you are responsible for coordinating the receipt and processing of donations, pass-through funding, and event/trip credit card payments for Baptists on Mission.
This position also processes administrative, ministry, and partnership-related payments while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with organizational procedures.
- Applicant must have an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred.
- Applicant must have at least two (2) years of work experience in a related field.
- Must demonstrate a strong Christian character, a genuine profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and be dedicated to the mission of N.C. Baptists in support of building a culture that is on mission together.
- Must be in close alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) and demonstrate commitment to a local church. Supportive of the ministries of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC).
- Coordinate the receipt, coding, and deposit of all checks and cash in accordance with internal control procedures.
- Prepare and distribute weekly donor acknowledgement letters and maintain accurate, organized donor records.
- Post online order payments for donations/trips/events and process credit card payments received by telephone.
- Manage the BOM finance email account and maintain files for financial transactions.
- Review, code, and submit for timely payment processing: monthly administrative and ministry invoices, Missions Conference expenses, and regional rally meals.
- Prepare and submit approved ACH/wire transfer requests to the accounting department for vendors, ministries, and partnerships
Retirement:
- 10% employer paid contribution into your Guide Stone 403b retirement account.
- Additional eligibility of a 1% match for every 3 years of service, up to max of 5%.
Life Insurance:
- Employee coverage is two times the annual salary
- Dependent coverage at Convention expense (Spouse: $5,000) (Child: $10,000)
Flex Spending Account (FSA):
- Pre-tax benefit account used to help pay for eligible medical, dental, vision care expenses that are not covered by insurance. Convention will contribute 499.98 to 999.96 per year depending upon employee contribution.
Gym Membership Reimbursement:
- Reimbursement of $10.00/month to offset cost of verified gym membership.
Paid Time Off:
- While getting the primary holidays off (8 total), the convention goes beyond this by offering an extra day after Thanksgiving and a full week off for Christmas, which is not counted against your vacation leave.
Christmas Bonus:
- There may be a chance that some or all employees may be presented with an amount determined by the discretion of the Executive Committee.
Paid Parental Leave:
- Eligible employee's may receive up to two (2) weeks of paid parental leave following the birth of a child or placement of a child (adoption or foster).
- Special Short Term Disability is eligible for up to six (6) weeks of paid short-term disability leave at the rate of 100% of the employee's salary.
- These benefits provide the employee with up to eight (8) weeks of fully paid leave to care for the birth of a child.
