Role Overview

Objective: We’re looking for a team player who can communicate clearly to join the Baptists on Mission (BOM) team as a full-time Ministry Finance Assistant to provide NC Baptist ministries, staff, and churches with excellent operational and administrative support in a manner that honors Christ.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the receipt, coding, and deposit of all checks and cash in accordance with internal control procedures.
- Prepare and distribute weekly donor acknowledgement letters and maintain accurate, organized donor records.
- Post online order payments for donations/trips/events and process credit card payments received by telephone.
- Manage the BOM finance email account and maintain files for financial transactions.
- Review, code, and submit for timely payment processing: monthly administrative and ministry invoices, Missions Conference expenses, and regional rally meals.
- Prepare and submit approved ACH/wire transfer requests to the accounting department for vendors, ministries, and partnerships.
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred.
- At least two (2) years of work experience in a related field.
- Strong Christian character, genuine profession of faith in Jesus Christ, dedicated to the mission of N.C. Baptists.
- In close alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message (2000) and demonstrated commitment to a local church; supportive of ministries of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC).
Retirement: 1% match for every 3 years of service, up to a maximum of 5%.
Life Insurance:
Employee coverage is two times the annual salary.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA):
Pre-tax benefit account to help pay for eligible medical, dental, vision expenses not covered by insurance. Convention will contribute $499.98 to $999.96 per year depending on employee contribution.
Gym reimbursement: $10.00/month to offset cost of verified gym membership.
Paid Time Off:
Primary holidays off (8 total) plus an extra day after Thanksgiving and a full week off for Christmas, not counted against vacation leave.
Christmas Bonus:
May be presented at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
Parental leave:
Up to two (2) weeks of paid leave following birth or placement of a child (adoption or foster).
Short-term disability:
Up to six (6) weeks paid at 100% of salary.
Additional:
Up to eight (8) weeks of fully paid leave to care for the birth of a child.
