Job Summary

The Project Financial Analyst I acts as the primary financial leader on a project team, supporting the Project Manager and functional leads. This is accomplished by routine monitoring, reporting and acting to positively influence project revenue, cash flow, profitability and risk. The Project Analyst also serves as the primary point of communication between corporate Finance and the project team and may communicate directly with clients and vendors.

On smaller projects where there is not an operational leader fulfilling the Project Manager role, the Project Analyst may administratively act in this capacity.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Partners with the project team to support financial forecasting related to project plan and schedule.
  • Educates project team on financial reporting tools and techniques.
  • Tracks scope changes; gathers data and analyzes impact of change; makes recommendations to the Project Manager based on financial projections.
  • Performs burn rate projections.
  • Provides excellent service directly to clients; participates on client calls and addresses concerns/issues directly with the client when necessary.
  • Works collaboratively with RQM+ team members to disseminate project details and information and provides financial direction.
  • Provides any additional financial support needed to the Project Manager and/or project team.
  • Financial Project Management:
    • Support PM/PL in managing scope vs. contract.
    • Support PM/PL in managing hours worked vs. scope.
    • Support PM/PL and key leads in forecasting activity and labor.
    • Initiate and/or approve project invoicing.
    • Manage project cash position.
    • Manage project A/R and support collection efforts.
    • Manage site payment funds and process.
    • Respond/support response to client financial inquiries.
    • Monthly revenue recognition.
    • For smaller projects without a PM/PL may fulfill the role of administrative PL.
    • Serve as a point of contact between project team and finance.
    • Provide project related financial reporting as needed.
    • Request initiation of/support project closeout process.
Education/Work Experience
  • Bachelors’ degree required. Experience in financial or organizational leadership role preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
