Position Summary:
(Primary Function) The Construction Assistant works alongside the Construction Supervisor to assist in operations including on- site construction supervision, materials pick-up, and assistance with construction tasks. Weekend work may be necessary.
Essential Functions:

• Works with and supervises groups of families in the construction of their homes.
• Teaches tool use, safety, and maintains safe working conditions for jobs to be performed.
• Keeps construction in compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
• Complete other job-related activities that may be required or deemed advisable by the supervisor. 1.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to encourage group participation and interaction.
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely; good verbal skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
2. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Should possess the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to teach building skills to unskilled workers.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, as needed.
3. Performance/Success Factors:
• Be punctual to work and other related functions.
• Perform well in a team environment.

• Complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner.
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks and events.
• Perform routine duties with minimal supervision.
• Strive for excellence in all tasks and duties and foster an attitude of “exceeding guest expectations.”
• Able to work independently but operate within company policy guidelines using independent judgment. 4.
Working Conditions:
• Moderate physical activity required, including lifting of construction materials and use of power tools.
• Most often, setting for work will be working on a jobsite or driving a company vehicle.
• Physical demands: able to lift up to 75 pounds, manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items.
• Works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
• Climb, balance, stoop, kneel; frequently move about, able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
• At times, be outdoors in all weather conditions.
