The Department of Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a permanent academic Vascular Surgeon to join our Division of Vascular Surgery. The Division of Vascular Surgery is among nine clinical divisions in the Department of Surgery. The Division currently includes eight faculty members who provide exceptional care to patients from across the state of North Carolina.
The successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of vascular surgery, including both open and endovascular surgery, and will possess advanced expertise in open and endovascular management of complex aortic pathology, and will contribute to the division’s missions in clinical excellence, education, and research. This position offers the opportunity to practice at a high‑volume tertiary/qua ternary referral center with a collaborative, multidisciplinary aortic program.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with complex aortic disease, including thoracic, thoracoabdominal, pararenal, and juxtarenal aortic pathology
- Perform advanced open and endovascular aortic procedures, including:
- Complex EVAR (fenestrated and branched techniques)
- TEVAR and hybrid aortic repairs
- Open thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic reconstruction is preferred but not required
- Participate in multidisciplinary aortic conferences and collaborative care with cardiothoracic surgery, interventional radiology, cardiology, and anesthesia
- Contribute to vascular surgery call coverage and general vascular surgery practice as appropriate
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and patient‑centered care
