PositionSummary
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time physiatrist trained in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine to join our academic department. Rank based on experience and qualifications. This position will provide both inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation services across our outpatient clinics and UNC Children’s Hospital. The role includes seeing inpatients, building and directing multidisciplinary clinics, and opportunities to assist with ITB pump management and pediatric EMG/NCVS testing.
This position will also participate in teaching, research, program development, quality, and administrative activities and may lead and develop new clinical, research and educational programs within the institution.
Responsibilities- Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation services across outpatient clinics and UNC Children’s Hospital.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams and develop new multidisciplinary clinics.
- Assist with ITB pump management and pediatric EMG / NCVS testing as applicable.
- Engage in teaching, research, program development, quality improvement, and administrative activities related to an academic appointment.
- Lead and develop new clinical, research, and educational programs within the department.
The successful candidate will be board eligible/board certified in PM&R and subspecialty board eligible/certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine. MD or DO with NC medical license or willingness to obtain state license.
Preferred Qualifications , Competencies, and ExperienceExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership abilities, a track record of program development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a desire to enhance quality of patient care.
