Financial Education Coordinator
Position Type: Temporary Staff (SHRA), Part-Time, 25 hours per week, 1–6 months appointment.
Location: North Carolina, US
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Development and Educational Content (40%)
- Review, update, and maintain financial education curriculum, workshop presentations, and student-facing educational materials.
- Assist with the development of new financial education resources, presentations, and programming content.
- Conduct research on personal finance topics, policy updates, and best practices to ensure accuracy and relevance of materials.
- Maintain organized curriculum documentation and educational resources used by the Financial Well-Being Center.
Outreach and Program Support (35%)
- Assist with outreach initiatives that promote financial education programs, workshops, and services.
- Support the coordination and delivery of workshops, presentations, and tabling events.
- Assist in the development of promotional materials and outreach messaging for financial well‑being programs.
- Support partnerships with campus departments, student organizations, and other campus stakeholders.
Peer Financial Coach Program Support (15%)
- Provide operational and programmatic support for the Peer Financial Coach program.
- Assist with preparing workshop materials, activities, and educational resources used by Peer Financial Coaches.
- Support program logistics and documentation related to peer‑led financial education programming.
Additional Financial Education Programming (10%)
- Deliver financial education workshops or presentations to student groups and campus partners as needed.
- Represent the Carolina Financial Well‑Being Center at outreach events and educational programs.
- Assist with student engagement initiatives designed to increase awareness of financial well‑being resources.
- Help with content creation for the Financial Well‑Being Center’s social media platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Experience developing presentations, curriculum, or educational materials.
- Experience facilitating workshops, presentations, or group learning environments.
- Experience working in higher education, student affairs, or student support services.
- Familiarity with financial literacy topics such as budgeting, credit, debt management, student loan repayment, fraud protections, or saving/investing.
- Experience with presentation and design tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, or similar platforms.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. It will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
