The Global Business Program Specialist in the Office of Global Business at the Fisher College of Business is responsible for successfully managing long-term global experiential learning programs for undergraduate and graduate business students. This position would support global internship and fellowship programs at the college, with the portfolio of global programs including the Fisher Global Internships (FGI) and the Ohio Export Internship Program (OEIP).
Successful management of global programs requires marketing and student recruitment, general student advising, application creation using Qualtrics surveys, application evaluation, Terra Dotta system maintenance, management of global third-party providers contracts and relationships, budget tracking of student payments and scholarship awards, student pre-departure preparation, and remote support and mentorship of students abroad on global programs.
The FGI program is made possible through partnerships with third-party providers of global internships, and the OEIP program is made possible through a partnership with the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD).The Global Business Program Specialist is responsible for negotiating fees and services with providers and leading the contract negotiations, signature collection, and invoice processing. Provider services that would be negotiated would include program locations, housing, and inclusions such as meals, excursions, supplemental courses, and in-country transportation.
The Global Business Program Specialist is responsible for serving as a primary contact for ODOD for the Ohio State cohort of the OEIP program. Responsibilities would include collaboration with ODOD to ensure proper coordination with other participating universities in the recruitment and preparation of students in the OEIP program located throughout central Ohio.
The Global Business Program Specialist will lead a team of up to four undergraduate student employees throughout the academic school year. Managing the hiring, training, and task allocation to undergraduate student workers during the academic year is another key responsibility. Student employees assist in program management responsibilities as well as course delivery and grading. As a direct supervisor, the Global Business Program Specialist will approve timesheets in Workday, assign relevant projects and tasks, provide necessary support and trainings, and monitor and evaluate student performance.
The Global Business Program Specialist must be willing and able to travel internationally as an on-site resident director for global programs outside of the assigned portfolio as needed. Anticipated international travel would be no more than 2-3 weeks annually, typically during academic breaks throughout the year. Domestic travel may include domestic travel to industry conferences for professional development, or to present industry best-practices or research.
This position is a one-year term appointment and may be renewed based on business needs and funding availability.
Additional Information - This position will be a hybrid role, with two days remote and three days in the office each week. On-campus presence required for in-person student advising, student employee supervision, and event coordination.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or experience. 4 years of experience in international business, higher education, or a related field. Knowledge of international business. Experience in program planning and administration. Experience working with students in global programs. Excellent leadership skills. Ability to work independently and delegate tasks effectively. Ability to work with varied stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni and external organizations.

Additional Information:The target hiring range for this job profile is $51,500 - $67,250. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
