Inside the Role

The Mechatronics Manufacturing Engineer possesses expertise in vehicle electronics programming, production testing systems, vehicle assembly processes, and electromechanical system troubleshooting. This role combines a diverse engineering background including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and software engineering with hands-on vehicle product knowledge and applied project management. Mechatronic systems in vehicles provide industry-leading technology for features such as advanced driver safety, Over-the-air connectivity, fuel efficiency and more.

The right person will drive DTNA’s success by helping our engineering department, customers, and network integrate new vehicles into their operations.

Support manufacturing operations with an engineering focus on optimizing production processes to improve safety and ergonomics, efficiency, and first-time quality. Ensure that production has the necessary tools and processes to build trucks successfully. Evaluate new product designs to develop and implement related manufacturing processes.

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500 - $126,000 USD

Pay Offered Dependent On Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

What You Drive At DTNA

  • Collaborate with design teams to develop diagnostic strategies for new PARs and ECUs.
  • Serve as the product owner for applications used in vehicle electrical testing (VET) and dynamometer (Dyno) testing in manufacturing facilities, including agile management of the development team.
  • Develop and optimize vehicle programming processes in collaboration with the VEPS IT team.
  • Design equipment and manufacturing control concepts while considering the bigger picture: wireless programming and onboard programming using CTP.
  • Design manufacturing equipment layouts to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Design the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapting machinery in response to factory conditions.
  • Provide guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with management and key personnel to develop production processes, manpower allocation, and plant layouts.
  • Review production schedules, pre-series engineering specifications, and orders to understand and optimize manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for meeting quality, productivity, and safety goals.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Mechatronics, Mechanical Electrical, Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Power BI.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or Solid Works.
  • Experience working in the automotive industry manufacturing practices.
  • Expertise in dynamometer (Dyno) and alignment production lines.
  • Experience with automation equipment deployment.
  • Proven ability to apply engineering principles, technologies, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of vehicle electronic test systems or related engineered components.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and electronic hardware/software and the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
