The primary purpose of this Environmental Program Consultant (EPC) position which is located in the Corrective Action Branch of the Underground Storage Tank (UST) Section is responsible for the development of guidance documents that outline the assessment and remediation activities at sites contaminated with petroleum and hazardous substance releases from USTs and for petroleum releases from non-UST sources such as Above ground Storage Tanks (ASTs) and spills.

The EPC designs outreach materials, creates training information, and conducts instruction for staff regarding assessment and corrective action guidance and policy. The EPC provides a high level of technical assistance and advice to responsible parties, environmental consultants, licensed geologist/hydro geologists, licensed engineers, and other interested parties.

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains clear, well-organized program guidance documentation for UST staff and the regulated community.

Leads rule development and readoption efforts for the Corrective Action Branch.

Updates and maintains databases, document management systems, geographic information systems (GIS), and the UST Section website.

Develops outreach materials and provides training for the assessment and corrective action guidance and policy, as well as State and Federal UST and non-UST regulations, for UST Section staff, the regulated community and the public.

Serves on committees supporting initiatives directed by Section Management or the Division Director.
