HIVOLT Advanced – is expanding into the North Carolina region and we are looking for Relay Construction Oversight Techs to join us.

We are expanding our team and seeking experienced, skilled, team-oriented Relay Construction Oversight Techs in North Carolina, United States with the desire to share your opinions, ideas, be valued, and treated with respect.

Where do we work?

Various locations throughout the United States. We are primarily looking for technicians interested in working in the North Carolina region.

General Scope

Collaborate and coordinate with customer and third-party teams to establish and uphold high standards of safety and quality across all assigned projects. This is achieved by overseeing the pre-job, post-job and on-site day-to-day work practices and activities.

  • Clearly communicate with all team members to ensure mutual understanding of safety/human performance, project goals and daily operations.
  • Communicate any safety or operational concerns or events to applicable work groups.
  • Collaborate effectively with the project team to align and coordinate project activities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Customer project stakeholders to ensure project goals and expectations are met.
  • Project updates, challenges, and progress reports to Customer representatives in a timely and transparent manner.
  • Communicate with Customer’s engineering and compliance teams to ensure work practices and project documentation meet required standards.
Technical

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Offer technical support to resolve challenges related to engineering, applications, settings, or testing work practices.
  • Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills and contribute to developing new application standards as needed.
  • Adhere to all applicable NERC regulations and provide support for NERC-CIP procedures and work practices related to Bulk Electric System projects.
  • Function as the primary point of coordination between Customer and contract protection & control (P&C) technicians.
  • Oversee contract P&C technicians to ensure adherence to established safety and work practices and promptly report any concerns or deviations to the appropriate team members.
  • Oversee contract P&C technicians to ensure understanding and execution of Customer’s expectations and work practices – this includes ensuring the understanding and implementation of project scope, job plans and overall project commissioning.
Documentation & Reporting

Provide support in all aspects of project reporting and documentation required by Customer to include but not limited to:

  • All Safety Related Documentation (Safety/HP Audits, Pre-Jobs, etc).
  • All Project documentation/reports (Weekly Progress, Red-Lines, Job Closeout Documentation, etc).
  • Estimating project schedules, costs, necessary resources.
  • “Punch List” during site inspections (Pre-Job, Post-Job and Day-to-Day project inspections).
Qualifications
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and maintain a clean driving record.
Working Conditions

Work can take place outdoors in all weather conditions. Work is occasionally performed near moving mechanical parts in high, precarious places and can be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, temperature extremes, fumes and airborne particulates, traffic, toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock hazard, noise pollution, and vibration.
