Mechanical Engineer; MEP Design

Senior Mechanical Engineer | North Carolina | Up to $140,000

A well-established MEP consultancy with offices across the South East is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their North Carolina office. This is a key hire for a close-knit team of 10-12 people - and for the right person, there is a genuine long-term path to ownership within the firm.

You will be a senior presence in a small, collaborative office - hands‑on with design, involved in client meetings and site visits, and helping to guide and develop the mechanical team around you. The work is predominantly residential in nature - multi-family apartments, senior living, hotels, and retail/office spaces - so experience in this sector is a strong advantage.

This isn't a purely production-focused role. You will be expected to take ownership, build client relationships, and operate with a high degree of professionalism and maturity.

• Lead and deliver mechanical design projects across residential and commercial sectors
• Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers within the office
• Attend client meetings and site visits as a senior representative of the firm
• Build and maintain strong client relationships

• PE license required
• Senior‑level mechanical engineering experience with a strong design background
• Experience in multi‑family, hospitality, or residential MEP design preferred
• Client‑facing, professional, and dependable – someone the team and clients can count on
• Hybrid working – minimum 2 days in office
• Ambition to grow within the firm long term

Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
