The Opportunity
  • Function as a quality control/quality assurance engineer within the substation quality management group (QMG).
  • Perform QA/QC of substation design packages, including physical design, protective relaying/control with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the substation design team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide guidance on design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes and B&V policies.
  • Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
  • Apply knowledge and comply with B&V quality program for assigned tasks.
  • Potentially ensure compliance with B&V quality program.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables for large or multiple projects.
  • Research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
  • Oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
  • Perform engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
  • Prepare and manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis methods to problems.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to lower‑level team members to develop project execution staff.
  • Review lower‑level engineering work or assignments.
  • Lead production teams, coordinate multiple disciplines, and serve as responsible charge for a project.
  • Coordinate with all internal/external team members on moderately complex projects.
  • Assist in identifying key client interests and drivers on high‑voltage substation projects.
  • Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develop approaches to accommodate these concerns.
  • Provide support to business development or pursuit activities and offer other services to clients.
  • Serve as a technical specialist and provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area.
  • Design a complete project or support multiple projects on complex technical challenges.
  • Foster knowledge management and provide mentoring.
  • Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.
  • Assist with performance management processes, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in career planning, learning and development.
  • Mentor lower‑level professionals and identify successors to train in their role.
  • Assist with resource management strategy.
  • Manage engineering resources for small groups of a single discipline.
  • Accountable for administrative responsibilities including ensuring policies, procedures and processes are effectively implemented; ensuring adherence to corporate and division programs; approving timesheets and expense reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Substation QA/QC reviews – Quality Assurance/Quality Checks.
  • Substation design experience – Physical and/or Protection & Controls.
  • Experience coordinating and communicating with clients, multidisciplinary leads and project managers.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized accredited program.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements.
Work Environment/Physical Demands

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
