Staff Geotechnical Professional – Kleinfelder Design Services

Locations:
Raleigh, NC and Charlotte, NC.

Experience:

4-8 years geotechnical engineering or geology.

• Assist Project Engineers/Project Managers in field investigations, including boring layout, utility clearance, coordination with drilling contractors, supervising drilling, and logging borings and test pits.
• Assist with laboratory testing assignments and compilation of lab and field testing results.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses under supervision: soil/rock classification, slope stability, earth retention systems, shallow/deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
• Assist Project Engineers/Managers in preparing geotechnical reports.

• Positive work attitude; ability to work safely and efficiently managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate clearly with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
• Travel requirement: 60–70%.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus.
