About the Opportunity:
We are partnering with a leading international engineering and project delivery organization to appoint a Senior Project Manager for a major brownfield life sciences facility project located in the Raleigh–Durham area of North Carolina.
This position will play a critical leadership role in the delivery of a highly complex, technically advanced facility upgrades supporting the rapidly growing pharmaceutical and life sciences sector.
The project environment includes clean rooms, GMP-regulated spaces, advanced MEP infrastructure, process utilities, and highly coordinated construction and commissioning activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project leader with a strong background in bio/pharma, life sciences, cleanroom, or advanced manufacturing environments.
Position Summary:The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of project execution associated with a large-scale life sciences facility upgrades. This includes leadership of construction activities, coordination of multidisciplinary teams, stakeholder management, project controls, quality assurance, and commissioning readiness.
The successful candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and successful delivery of the project while maintaining alignment across engineering, construction, validation, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead execution activities for a major bio/life sciences facility project
- Manage project performance across:
- Schedule
- Cost
- Quality
- Safety
- Risk
- Coordinate engineering, construction, commissioning, validation, and subcontractor teams
- Oversee delivery of:
- Advanced MEP systems
- Process utility infrastructure
- Drive alignment between design intent, constructability, and operational requirements
- Manage client relationships and executive-level project reporting
- Lead project meetings, issue resolution, and stakeholder coordination
- Support commissioning, startup, CQV, and facility handover activities
- Promote a strong safety and quality culture across the project site
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulated project requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related discipline
- 10+ years of project management experience within:
- Bio/pharmaceutical facilities
- Cleanroom or GMP-regulated projects
- Advanced manufacturing or mission-critical facilities
- Strong understanding of:
- GMP requirements
- Process utilities
- MEP systems
- Construction sequencing and commissioning
- Experience with in:
- Design-build
- EPC
- EPCM
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams in technically complex environments
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing or biotech facilities
- Familiarity with validation, CQV, and operational readiness activities
- Experience on greenfield or major expansion projects
- Understanding of regulated construction environments and compliance standards
