Duties

Function in a lead engineer capacity or as a technical specialist focused on relay settings. Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods; develop logic programming and downloadable relay setpoint files for protection of transmission lines, transformers, bus bars, and circuit breakers using modern digital relay devices and legacy‑electronic and electro‑mechanical relays.

Provide technical guidance for a variety of relay settings protection schemes and for NERC compliance studies for renewable integration substations (e.g., PRC 24, PRC 19, PRC 25). Serve as the technical lead for PRC 27 coordination. Prepare complex engineering deliverables, including protective relay fault calculations, in conformance with client and industry standards. Conduct short‑circuit system analysis, modeling, and coordination studies for transmission systems.

Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements, and lead smaller production teams while reviewing lower‑level engineering work. Oversee technical engineering drawing designs (one‑line, three‑line, connection diagrams, panel elevations, and protection & control schematics) and assist with the design of one‑line and wiring diagrams for protective relaying panels using computer‑assisted design (CAD) software.
