In this role, you will:
- Focus on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects, delivering significant portions of facilities through design, construction, and startup phases as a technical specialist or lead.
- Develop reports, technical memos, studies, detailed designs, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents.
- Participate in scheduling, budgeting, contract administration, business development, and proposal preparation.
- Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.
- Identify and communicate key client interests, developing approaches to accommodate these concerns.
- Perform design from conceptual and bid phase through completion for project needs and requirements.
- Assist the Engineering Manager with project schedules, budgets, and sub-consultant management.
- Interface directly with clients or sub-consultants under the Engineering Manager’s direction.
- Support business development through technical approaches, scopes of work, and client presentations.
- Apply civil engineering concepts, codes, and procedures within the water-engineering industry.
- Develop non-standard design solutions for complex projects.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Communicate with other engineering disciplines and project teams.
- Prepare complex engineering deliverables and calculations.
- Manage assigned budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
- Evaluate, select, and adapt engineering techniques and procedures.
- Review the work of early-career professionals.
- Oversee data collection, small team leadership, and project charge responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Licensed PE or active pursuit of PE registration.
- Thorough understanding of water and wastewater design (infrastructure, conveyance, pump and lift stations).
- Motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
- Ability to complete required pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, vehicle records).
- Professional engineering registration preferred or in active pursuit.
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after first 90 days.
- Typical office and construction environments with exposure to extreme weather, high noise, safety hazards, chemicals, and variable atmospheric conditions.
- Repetitive motions, lifting up to 40 lbs, and extended periods of standing or walking.
