Geotechnical Professional

Position Overview

Staff Geotechnical Professional – locations Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina. 4-8 years geotechnical engineering or geology experience.

• Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout, utility clearance, coordination with drilling contractors, and supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations.
• Log borings and test pits; compile lab and field testing results.
• Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
• Prepare and assist in drafting geotechnical reports.

• Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective communication with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
• MS in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology is a plus.

60%–70% travel required.
