Job Description

Perform materials testing for construction projects in accordance with industry standards and protocols. Conduct inspections of construction materials and document findings through daily field reporting. Utilize testing equipment and procedures while performing physical activities including squatting, bending, lifting, climbing, and traversing difficult terrain. Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to support testing and inspection activities.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct materials testing for construction projects following industry standards.

+ Inspect construction materials and document findings through daily field reports.

+ Use testing equipment and procedures effectively while performing physical tasks such as squatting, bending, lifting, climbing, and traversing challenging terrain.

+ Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to assist with testing and inspection activities.

Essential Skills

+ American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Technician Level I preferred

+ Nuclear Gauge User Certification preferred

+ NICET Level 1 - Soils preferred

+ NICET Level 1 - Concrete preferred

+ NICET Level 1 - Asphalt preferred

+ ICC Reinforced Concrete & Structural Masonry skills, training provided if necessary

+ Ability to lift equipment up to 80 lbs

+ Ability to perform physical activities required for testing procedures

+ Basic understanding of plans and blueprints

+ Driver's license required

+ Willingness to work after regular business hours, on weekends, and sometimes on holidays

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in the construction industry

+ NCDOT certification

+ Healthcare and Higher Education project experience

Work Environment

This position is based in Cary, NC, and involves field work requiring physical activities and traversing difficult terrain. The role may require work after regular business hours, on weekends, and occasionally on holidays. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
