Staff Geotechnical Engineers

Geo Engineers, Inc. is seeking Staff Geotechnical Engineers in Cary, North Carolina. The duties include performing geotechnical engineering activities for geotechnical subsurface exploration programs, ensuring work is consistent with project plans and specifications, and in accordance with safety guidelines. This role involves site reconnaissance, detailed field reports, trenchless pipeline construction activities, horizontal directional drilling design calculations, geotechnical analysis for foundation support, training junior staff, project management tasks, and analysis for liquefaction potential and slope stability.

Domestic travel up to 50% of the time may be required.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, and 1 year of experience as a Research/Teaching Assistant, Engineer, or in a related geotechnical/civil engineering occupation. Experience must include 6 months using MathCAD, CPET-IT, Geo Studio (Slope/W), or other geotechnical engineering software, and 6 months using AutoCAD to develop design projects. The position also requires EI (Engineer Intern) or EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or eligibility for EI/EIT certification through having passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and completion of coursework covering soil mechanics and foundation design.
