Civil Engineer (EIT) - Land Development (Cary, NC)
A growing, employee-focused engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Civil Engineer (EIT) to join its expanding Land Development team. With a strong national presence and a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed-use, and energy projects, this is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take ownership of design responsibilities while working alongside experienced project managers and technical leaders.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project teams, contributing to design efforts, coordinating with clients and agencies, and helping deliver high-quality land development projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation of project documents, proposals, and technical deliverables.
- Develop and review site plans.
- Develop and review engineering reports.
- Develop and review cost estimates.
- Develop and review project schedules.
- Develop and review permit applications.
- Develop and review due diligence reports.
- Revise plans based on client, regulatory, and stakeholder feedback.
- Research local and state zoning and development regulations.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations as required.
- Analyze survey data and site constraints to support project design.
- Prepare civil site design plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Coordinate with municipalities, agencies, clients, and internal project teams.
- Communicate project progress and workload updates to project leadership.
- Apply engineering principles to solve technical and design challenges.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 2-4 years of civil engineering experience, preferably within land development.
- Experience supporting or leading design elements of development projects.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
- Strong understanding of grading design, plan production, and site development principles.
- Experience with technical writing and engineering documentation.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
