Position Overview
The Mid‑Senior Level Electrical Engineer will be based in our Cary, N.C., office. This individual will work on projects focused on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food and beverage facilities, and must have a background in electrical engineering with a strong understanding of power system and lighting design in commercial and light industrial markets. We are looking for a resourceful and goal‑oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and desires to take on challenging work across regulated industries.
The Electrical Department is regularly engaged in a broad spectrum of projects that require creative solutions to complex building systems and utility issues, providing an excellent environment for growth and learning.
- Provide electrical engineering services supporting projects from concept through detailed design for pharmaceutical, R&D, process development, and manufacturing facilities.
- Interface with designers and client representatives to coordinate the development of design deliverables.
- Develop design documentation including engineering calculations, drawings, and diagrams.
- Perform electrical system calculations such as load analysis, lighting foot‑candle calculations, and short circuit analysis using computer‑based tools.
- Prepare engineering calculations, equipment specifications, and other deliverables for facility expansions, renovations, and remediation projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform electrical system capacity analyses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- EIT certification or PE license preferred.
- 5‑10+ years MEP engineering experience.
- Experience with design of GMP and FDA regulated facilities and/or central plant utilities preferred.
- Experience in technical leadership, schedule, cost, and scope management.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Autodesk software (Revit and AutoCAD).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
